A second site of the day...this one a bit more serious: where were you | september 11th, 2001

The last week!...Here's the plan. Today is your last day to work on your personal sites. You should have it saved on the m: drive in the Newsites folder by 10:15. Also today, please send your mentors one final e-mail thanking them for their help and asking them to take a look at your site a final time. I'll post them all at the end of class. Please make sure you copy your e-mail to your diaryland weblog.

Tomorrow I'm going to have you do some self-evaluation and some peer feedback on these sites. Both will end up in your diaryland sites as well. Thursday will be the last day for you to do some tweaking to your sites, and then Friday will be the grand finale show and tell.

All of your work should be in your weblogs by Thursday. Please make sure your client self-evaluation is there along with any missing site evaluations.
Site of the day: Volkswagen's Transparent Factory. I'm not sure how much of this site will work for you since it requires all sorts of plug-ins, but I think you'll get the idea. Fantastic stuff.

You should be working on your personal and client sites today. Client sites are due tomorrow at the beginning of class. Personal sites are due Tuesday. Please write a detailed summary of your work on the client's site and post it to your weblog at the end of class today. Discuss all work that you did in the production of your client's site.

Here's the Site of the Day...for those of you who need reminding that your last Web site review is due TODAY, here's a really well-done, fairly simple portfolio/personal site: :: benboy studios :: Another reminder...I won't be here tomorrow (I know you're all disappointed). But your client sites are due on Friday. I'm going to have a little assignment for you to do for homework about your client site experiences (which of course you should post to your log.) I have some good news for you today...our Netscape troubles may be over. Bear with me for a bit and then we'll try to get IE working! Yes!

The last full week... Hope all of you feel like you've had enough time to make your portfolios as good as they can be. Obviously, if you are having problems, you need to see me right away. Here's the remaining schedule:

Client sites are due Friday. We'll have a final show and tell on them at that point. I'll also be having you post a review of your work and your group's work to your weblogs at that time.

Personal sites are due next Tuesday. We need a couple of days to review your sites, get some feedback, and do some reflecting. As I said, in lieu of a final exam, we will be having a final show and tell of your personal sites a week from Friday.

Final Web site review is due this Wednesday. Please make sure it's in your log. By the way, if you have any make up work to do on reviews, etc., it has to be done by the end of the week.

Site of the Day: Another site that is incredibly well designed using tables. Some serious content too.

Oops!... Guess I missed a day, huh? Sorry about that. I'll give you two links today, I promise.

Just let me reiterate my little speech in class yesterday: Please make sure you avoid using full names on your sites and make every attempt to insure that all links go to appropriate sites. (Do I have to go over appropriate again? Use your best judgement.) The chances of evildoers tracking you down is remote to begin with, but we want to make sure your as protected as you can be. Use good common sense.

Client sites need some work, ladies and gentlemen. They are due a week from Tuesday, and at that time I'm going to be asking you to write about your experiences and what you did. All group members need to be sharing equally in the design and production. Please remember to get everyone involved.

Sites of the Day: This is just a cool design site that I just loved. Nice use of tables, huh? And, your bonus site is this one which I think is a very neat way of using the web to store history. Enjoy!

Ok...today we'll have some show and tell on client sites. We'll start at 10 or so and see what we can get through. Also, don't forget that you should have a review done by the end of today. Some of you may need to do that in class.

Site of the Day: Ok...I know that I've made my distaste for frames known, but on rare occasion they do work. Here's a very cool use from Bennington College. But they're still using tables for the msot part so don't get crazy.
