Happy Friday! The last day of November...you know what that means, right? Shopping days are running out. So, here's a few of my favorite places to shop: Amazon, Powells, and RUOutside (I wear XXXL). Have I mentioned I hate malls???

A couple of sites to check out. I love this woman's portfolio. Really. She does an extremely good job with tables, wouldn't you agree? And I like the colors too. And here's another pretty creative use of tables. Have I made my point???

Homework: Yes, you have something to do for Monday. I want you to start looking for a mentor. What's that, you ask? It's someone who is a professional in the field who will be willing to give you some feedback on what you are doing in this class. For Monday, in you weblogs, please post a e-mail message that you will send to your potential mentors that will ask for their participation. Let them know that you are a student at Hunterdon Central and that you are in a Web Pages and Portfolios class. Talk briefly about what is going to be in your website. And, tell them that all they will be required to do is send you three e-mails, one discussing their work, and two giving you feedback on yours. It should take up no more than an hour or two of their time over the next two months. Thank them profusely. Spell check, too. DON'T SEND IT, yet. I want to check them first.

Then, follow this link to Yahoo , click on the letter that your last name starts with, and find three designer sites that you think are cool and that have an e-mail link somewhere. Copy those links into your weblog so I can check 'em out. Next week at some point, I'll give you the go ahead to send them.

Also, don't forget you have a second review due sometime before Wednesday. Here's that good example again.

Good Morning...Have I mentioned I love days like this? Rainy, foggy, misty...I do, really.

Here's a site on flow charting that I probably should have given you yesterday (better late, right?). Remember that I want you to keep working on your charts...the more in depth you make them the better your planning and organization will be. Also, you may want to check off the pages as you do them. It'll give you a better idea of where you are at.

I'm also going to give you some Front Page resource sites to help you through. And I do have the Dummies book if you want to look something up. Here's a pretty straightforward tutorial to help you through some of the basics. And another that is a little elementary in design but useful nonetheless.

Ok...short post today...I'm swamped...Thanks to Nicole, Mike and Mike (?) who expressed an interest in looking into blogs for their sites. And Eileen, here's the link to your favorite and mine, EasyRGB. Have fun redoing your room. Remember, if you have any cool sites to suggest, send them along. Anyone want to have access to post to this blog???? Maybe I should do that anyway.

Today we start flow charting. I'll have some paper for you to work with, and I'll hopefully remember some pencils. I'll be looking for your homework in your weblogs too (remember, the four or five main sections of you site? In case you didn't, here's a GREAT example). Please gang, keep up with those assignments. I'm going to do an eval at the end of the week.

Good Morning! Anyone see the sunrise this morning? Holy moly, was it a beauty. Shoulda taken a picture for you. I could have given it to you and then you could have coded it into your pages! By the way, Nick, remind me to give you guys your mug shots today, okay???

So today we'll spend a little more time on code, review the links code and images and some other stuff from Pagetutor. And then well start looking at FrontPage.

You do have some homework to start thinking about. For tomorrow, in your diaryland logs, I'd like you to post the main sections that you see your site having. You should be looking at a minimum of four sections, and the one required is a school work section. The other three are up to you, but I would try to make them diverse and content-rich. (That means you have quite a few ideas for what you'd like those sections to contain.) Then, you need to start sketching out each of those sections in terms of content. For example, what artifacts will you include in your school section? You need at least four...what will you choose? How will you represent them? Will they have separate pages? Images? You need to plan this out BEFORE you start creating your site. That plan will be due on Thursday, and you'll have time tomorrow in class to work on it. It too should be posted to your weblog. (Remember, do the plan in Word or some other processor. Then, when you are finished, copy and paste it into your weblog.)

And, I have some extra credit for those of you who are willing. E-mail me if you want the details. It has something to do with the review that Mike (yep, Mike) did.

So, how much did you eat??? Hope you all had a nice holiday and that you thought about what you are thankful for. I know I did. Have I shown you pictures of my kids yet??? Hmmm...may have to do a group e-mail.

Anyway, this week we start with Front Page and some more html (cool site!)stuff. Please ladies and gentlemen, think before you start really creating your sites. Plan ahead. What colors do you like? What will your content be? What's going to be consistent? I may give you a quiz on this stuff, ya know.

Also, don't forget that your first reviews are due by the end of today. Here's a pretty good one already posted. I'll be checking this p.m. Please make sure you have them done as this is worth points. By the way, those of you who have already done this need to check your work. Many of your links don't work!
