Reminders: You need to tell me when you have set up a meeting with your client. Only one group has so far. You need to send out letters to your mentors. If you don't have one yet, you need to get one. Also, make sure you post replies to your weblogs.

One more day... until Friday and then it's the weekend, then there's only a week left, then...Closer than you think!

Mentor letter Ok, so today, I want you to compose a letter to your mentors that asks them for some background and asks them about their own website design ideas. We're talking specific questions here, like what websites do they look to for ideas? What do they think of frames? What is the future of design? How should beginning Web site designers start? What is their educational background? Who are their clients? Etc. I'm expecting you to pick and choose here, and to add your own to the list based on what you are most interested in. But shoot for five really, really good questions. Put them in a nice letter that tells them a little about you, thanks them for participating, includes my contact info (wrichard@hcrhs.k12.nj.us), let's them know that you will be asking them to review your stuff at the end of next week, etc. BEFORE YOU SEND IT TO THEM, let me approve it. Then post it to your weblog.

Are you organized? Just to make sure we're on the same page, at this point you should be this far along with your various projects:

Web site: You should have your home page set up and the main sub pages created with content. The pages should work, and you should be bringing in and adding content in the form of writing and/or pictures. Let me know if you need stuff to scan. I'll be doing mid-term evals on Friday and Monday, so be ready. I'll be looking for content, design, readability, and operation. Please make sure you have at least 5-7 pages done by the time I do your review.

Mentors: You should have a mentor by this point. If you don't you need to continue to send out e-mails. Please post positive responses to you weblogs, and you should remember to post any letters you send and responses you get there as well. We'll be sending them an e-mail on Thursday.

Clients: You should all have made your intitial contacts yesteday and today. Let me know if you are having trouble. You should be setting up meetings during this block next week. Please post your info in your logs.

Misc: You have another review due tomorrow.

Good morning...Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Here's the agenda for this week:

Today we're going to look at your company sites and get our clients assigned. Remember, the best site gets first choice. Each group is goint to need to have an introductory meeting with them by Break. You need to compose an intro letter today and post
Tomorrow, we're going to talk about the procedures for making contact with your clients and setting up meetings with them. I'm also going to ask you to post think about the next 28 days and set some deadlines for yourselves. You should have at least two of your sections complete by Winter Break.
Wednesday you have another website review due.
Thursday you have a letter to go out to your mentors due.
Friday we're going to do our mid term evaluations since interim reports are going out next week.
Next week is a work week...
